Peak chair decided to fall apart while I was away.... You probably saw the Whistler Peak mudslide plastered over social media. I finally decided it was time to investigate myself. Of course I got distracted by some wonderful powder skiing along the way. So is Peak chair ruined forever or can our favourite ski area on Whistler mountain be salvaged? I followed a sleeper spring storm South to Stevens Pass in Washington, USA. No one was ready for how good this day was about to be. Not even me. The amazing terrain at Stevens Pass completely caught me off guard. The zones off 7th Heaven and Cowboy Ridge were exactly my kind of skiing, and it felt like we had the mountain to ourselves.The Pacific Northwest is the real deal. Even in a lower snow year, it still delivered an incredible day. I just wish I had more time to explore Washington this winter, but glad I got to sneak across the line for one last storm before spring fully takes over and the corn harvest is in full swing. After years of planning a Vancouver Island ski trip I finally coughed up the ferry money. I had an absolute blast skiing Mount Washington Alpine Resort, until my tooth decided to exit my mouth. Guess I'll be looking extra Canadian for my wedding. Anyone know a good dentist? Welcome to Japanada! Sasquatch Mountain resort is one of BC skiing's last hidden gems. Today was my first time ever skiing it and it quickly became one of my absolute favourite storm skiing days of the season. I've honestly never seen a ski hill this empty on a fresh snow day. Storm days like this often make me question why I ski Whistler Blackcomb at all. Although the snow was much more coastal, the chill vibes and the sick tree turns reminded me of Japan.
