Today I skied Aspen Highlands and my best to keep up with Aspen Colorado’s biggest legend, "Temerity Tommy". Aspen Highlands looks small on a trail map but parks a gnarly punch. Everything from top to bottom is steep and the Deep Temerity chair is magic if you like skiing bumps, trees and unlimited vert. The Highlands bowl is also absolutely legendary and is home to some of the best views and sustained steep skiing in the state. Don’t sleep on Highlands if you ever make it out to Aspen! Aspen is one of the most famous (and expensive) ski destinations in the world and today the brokest bloke in town is skiing the biggest of the 4 resorts, Snowmass. Prior to yesterday, I had never heard of Crested Butte. But, thankfully I got tipped off. How could I miss America's steepest man-made & tree defined trail. Crested Butte is absolutely legendary and is the perfect ski resort to burn some ass. I was once again blown away by the amount of extreme and lawless terrain at these Colorado ski resorts. The dust on crust in the morning felt phenomenal and the steeps were sporty. When the Peak opens up, that must be one of the most legendary in-bounds runs in America. Rambo however was equally as legendary, for all the wrong reasons. It is America’s steepest man-made tree defined trail. It has a 55 degree pitch and due to the complete lack of snow and unlimited amounts of roots, rocks and hazards, this might be America's scariest run too. Watch me billy goat down it so you never have to try. Crested Butte rates super high on my list of amazing resorts, it’s got a little something for everyone. The ski road trip of a lifetime is officially underway. First stop COLORADO! I’ve been dreaming of this day since I started this channel and our first ski resort on the journey is Telluride. Telluride is the wild west of Colorado ski destinations and it’s the highest mountain I’ve ever skied. My lungs almost exploded hiking the 13,319 feet or 4060 meters in-bounds sanctioned terrain up Black Iron Bowl & Palmyra peak. The views at Telluride were some of the best I’ve ever seen and my jaw was hitting the snow every single turn. From wicked steeps to groomed run perfection, Telluride had a little bit off everything. I was so happy to see that the terrain in America is just as gnarly and lawless as our Canadian ski mountains. The mountain town of Telluride is also insanely cool. Wifi access in the van is tough so I can’t do as many edits as I normally would. The 3 mu-ski-teers are back and of course we had to bum around the Blackcomb Backcountry. I pooped myself the skiing was so good.
