Whistler Blackcomb is finally closed for the 2023 ski season. What a ride it’s been! My final day on the hill was an absolute hoot. The heat was unprecedented for late May topping out at 36 degrees celsius in the village. We did it right with a few beverages, lots of floral and a sprinkle of denim. It's too bad they don't keep the Blackcomb glacier open for summer skiing anymore. Either way, this was the exact ski resort sendoff I needed. I was itching for an adventure after a long day at work and I think I may have created the next big endurance sport. CRUISER BIKE SKI MOUNTAINEERING. Trust me it's going big. Also, trust me and try some Adventure Greens, they got me feeling fantastic. https://www.ergogenicsnutrition.com/adventure-greens/<br /><br />Starting in downtown Vancouver I strapped my skis on my girlfriends cruiser bike and gained close to 1000m to gain access to Cypress Mountain ski area. From there I clipped my boots on, stuck on the skins and suffered my way to the summit of Mt Strachan for sunset. It was an incredible adventure. <br /><br />I guess you could say I put a whole new meaning to cruising. Goes to show. You can still have fun while working a day job.
This weekend I let AI and ChatGPT make all of the important decisions for our Whistler Blackcomb ski getaway. I even let it choose our ski runs. Spring Skiing is finally here at Whistler Blackcomb and I’m absolutely loving it. Whistler Blackcomb’s groomed runs tend to be icy most of the season but when the temp gets above freezing every little bump and jump is a go. In more important news, I found an absolutely legendary natural pond skim and it rocked!!! Can’t wait to slash some slush and drink more sauce next weekend. Hit me up to buy some hot sauce before I run out! <br /><br />The runs of the day were Ridge Runner and Twist & Shout on the Crystal chair and Springboard under the Blackcomb Gondola. Red Mountain Resort gifted us with one of the best powder days of the entire season Finally I was able to experience this light and deep interior powder that everyone talks about. This ski resort is filled to the brim with unbelievable glades, steeps, cliffs and pillows. Watch until the end to see the best powder of the season. What really blew my mind was the backcountry areas surrounding the mountain! We spent part of the day on-resort and part of the day in the backcountry. White Water Ski Resort is so underrated. Glades cover the majority of the mountain and the natural spacing is absolutely perfect. This place would be a dream in snorkel deep powder. It’s more than just tree skiing though! The slack country access is phenomenal, the food is delicious and the people are simply the best. Great ski hill vibes all around and super fun for families too.
